In 2018, Apex were commissioned by International Management Group (IMG) to provide a design for a Rallycross circuit in Austin, Texas as part of IMG’s vision to grow both the FIA World Rallycross Championship as well as their Americas Rallycross Series.

Apex designed the 0.8 km circuit to integrate with the iconic F1 and MotoGP circuit in the arena section of the between Turn 12-17, creating an exciting circuit without detriment to the other events held at the venue.

With a relatively tight programme for design and construction, Apex handed over the homologation design to the FIA at the end of 2017 to allow construction and testing to be completed before the event in 2018. 

The circuit successfully held its first WRX event in September 2018. The circuit also hosted in September 2018 and 2019.
