Apex worked closely with International Management Group (IMG), commercial rights holders for the FIA World Rallycross Championship and the FIA to develop conceptual designs and homologation documentation suitable for submission to the FIA for their approval. Apex also prepared additional specification documentation to supplement the homologation drawings to allow the local engineers to be able to prepare detailed designs ready for construction.

Similar to other circuits we have worked on, this facility was based on the inside of a frequently used international motorsport facility (most notably visited by F1 and DTM) and as such it was important to consider other users of the circuit and the minimisation of impact to those operations. The designs presented were considerate of this fact, which allowed for the permanent installation of the track without detriment to these headline events.

The circuit, located on the inside of the arena section of turns 12-17, hosted its first round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship in 2015, followed up by an event in 2016 and will continue to do so in the coming years.
