In March 2018 Apex were commissioned to assess the  general feasibility of a potential Formula One Grand Prix in the  streets around the City and Port, with the potential for this new  venue to be added to the Formula One calendar for 2019. The purpose of the commission was to evaluate the proposed  layout favoured by F1 with specific emphasis on the engineering  challenges identified by F1.

Subsequent key information was produced as part of a later Master Plan study that was critical to the commercial decision as  to whether or not to hold the event including:

• Circuit Master Plan

• Event Overlay Strategy

• Civil Works Strategy

• Procurement Strategy

• Project Estimate

• Project Programme

The Downtown location was later superceded by a desire to use the  Miami Dolphins stadium site. Apex delivered a number of comprehensive deliverables in a  very short delivery timeframe to provide F1 the key information  they required in order to make an ultimate decision on the  location.
