In 2018, Apex Circuit Design was appointed by Bathurst Regional Council to develop the detailed design for the Mount Panorama Second Circuit, a new permanent motorsport destination alongside one of Australia’s most iconic venues. Designed to complement the heritage of Mount Panorama, the facility was planned to host a wide range of four-wheeled and two-wheeled motorsport activities in accordance with FIA and FIM standards.

The centrepiece of the development is a 4.7 km FIA Grade 2 / FIM Grade A circuit, integrated into the natural landscape to create a challenging and immersive driving experience. Combining flowing high-speed sections, elevation changes and technical corners, the circuit also includes National (3.2 km) and Club (1.65 km) configurations to maximise operational flexibility.

Apex delivered the motorsport masterplan, incorporating pit and paddock facilities, race control, medical facilities, hospitality areas and future automotive development opportunities. The design placed strong emphasis on spectator experience, using the site’s natural terrain to provide exceptional viewing opportunities and visitor circulation.

The Mount Panorama Second Circuit highlights Apex’s capability to deliver internationally compliant motorsport destinations that combine technical excellence, commercial viability and outstanding visitor experiences. Through master planning, homologation design, environmental support and detailed design, Apex created a construction-ready vision for a landmark Australian motorsport facility.
